When Hurricane Melissa, classified as a category 5 storm, struck Black River in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, on October 28, 2025, there were immediate reports of extensive devastation. Donavan Thomas, Founder of We Got You Through Disaster Corporation, was informed that his hometown had been significantly impacted and decided to assess the situation personally. Approximately six weeks later, he traveled to Jamaica, and this blog provides an account of his observations and experiences.
